Work Focus

I am especially interested in focusing my work on:

Individuals Undergoing Life Transitions

I help people:

  • nurturing healthy, long-term committed relationships;
  • working through life stages, promoting positive aging;
  • dealing with grief and loss;
  • living with chronic pain;
  • healing from socio-political trauma;
  • Clarifying life goals and moving forward with career issues, informed by my seven years of experience providing career counseling and coaching.

Individuals seeking career changes or coaching around workplace culture and integration

As a trained career counselor with over seven years of experience in employment counseling I:

  • am experienced working with all sorts of folks, including undergraduate, graduate, perspective graduate students, and mid-life adults seeking support around career changes;
  • enjoy administering and interpreting the MBTI test (as a certified MBTI -Myers Briggs Trait Instrument- trainer), helping clients incorporate this knowledge to understand workplace culture and their job goals;
  •  try to help clients become “unstuck” in their job search, support them in identifying joy in work, and understand their motivation;
  • and I integrate my career coaching with clients to help them identify potential emotional barriers in order to move forward with career transitions, using my clinical toolbox tools like expressive arts, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy.

L G B T Q Q  Community Members

I support folks:

  • looking at the intersection of sexual orientation and/or gender identity and coming out;
  • pondering gender identity development;
  • exploring expressions of alternative sexuality, including negotiating polyamorous relationships;
  • building strong LGBTQQ relationships;
  • struggling with queer aging.

Individuals Impacted by Violent Relationships

I work with clients, including survivors of Domestic Violence, sexual assault and related trauma:

  • trying to break the cycle of violence by helping them explore the feelings of fear, depression, anxiety and isolation they encounter while trying to rebuild their lives;
  • considering how gender impacts/interrelates with sexual violence, human trafficking, body image, and recovery from childhood sexual assault.
  • clarifying sexual harassment and other workplace culture issues based upon my background as a Human Resources Manager.

Groups

In addition to individual therapy, I also enjoy facilitating groups. No groups are currently available, please check back for future groups.

I believe that therapy can be transformative, and that people have the ability to change the parameters of their lives. I look forward to meeting you and learning if I might be able to help you on your journey through life.

Fees

My fee is $165 for a 50-minute session. I endeavor to consider my clients’ individual economic situation in setting fees and may offer lower fees.
